Global Volunteers' Network of Care:
Remembering Global Volunteers in your Will

There are several ways in which to contribute to Global Volunteers through your will. The advantage of remembering Global Volunteers through a bequest is the flexibility it offers. Following are examples of language you can use and four common methods:

A fixed amount of money or an appreciated asset or specific property:

"I give and bequeath to Global Volunteers, located in St. Paul, Minnesota, $____________."

Or, "I give and bequeath to Global Volunteers, located in St. Paul, Minnesota, _____ shares of _________________________ stock."

Or, describe the real property or personal property, including its exact location.

A percentage of the estate:

"I give and bequeath to Global Volunteers, located in St. Paul, Minnesota, _____% of my estate."

A residual bequest:

After the executor pays taxes, costs and fees, the value of the remaining assets is the residue.

"All of the residue of my estate, including real and personal property, I give and bequeath to Global Volunteers, located in St. Paul, Minnesota."

A charitable remainder trust:

You can provide a loved one with income for life through a special gift to Global Volunteers. This may be done by establishing a charitable trust through your will. Upon your death, the trust pays income to the person you designate as the recipient. After that person’s death, whatever remains in the trust passes to Global Volunteers.

Be sure to consult an attorney when preparing any legal documents.
