Most Global Volunteers service programs are managed by on-site staff who live in the communities we serve. However, in a few host countries, including South Africa, Global Volunteers USA staff and volunteer team leaders manage programs by traveling to and from the host community with the volunteer team. All team leaders have led teams to different program locations. In fact, some have managed 20 or more Global Volunteers service programs around the world!
All Country Managers and volunteer team leaders are trained and experienced in managing diverse groups of people. In addition, they have all completed our intensive team-leader training seminar. Further, all our team leaders are evaluated by the volunteers on each program, and must achieve an established level of performance in order to continue leading Global Volunteers teams.
Michele Gran, Global Volunteers co-founder, vice president, and team leader extraordinaire, will lead the first team – July 12 to 26, 2008. Team leaders for subsequent programs will be announced shortly.”
