The Original Adventures In Service

Peace Through Understanding; Understanding Through Service

We believe deeply that inter-cultural friendships are foundational to world peace. That's why every service program aims to wage peace by facilitating mutual international understanding. Working side-by-side with others from different traditions, religions, and ethnic heritages, you'll learn that ultimately, we're all more alike than different. It's in this discovery that respect, understanding -- and true friendships -- naturally emerge.

"If I've made one change, one difference in the life of one child,
I've changed the world. It is through the demonstration of
understanding and acceptance that we earn the right
to sit at the table of peace." ~Jo-Ann Winnik, CA

Yet, this work requires considerable planning and concerted effort to create opportunities for personal peace waging. Above all, our stated, over-arching goal to help establish a foundation for global peace and justice guides all of our efforts.

This allows you to rest assured that your contributions will truly make a difference. Volunteers put their compassion, energy and skills to work on sustainable community initiatives. The result is genuine service, along with a true exchange of ideas, cultures and understanding. The opportunity for life-changing awareness exists in each Global Volunteers service program. Whether you've always dreamed of joining the Peace Corps, envisioned yourself immersed in another culture, or yearned to "give back" to the world, our exceptional service programs connect you to a global network of friends -- and the opportunity to wage peace together!
