Work With Teens and Adults

All of Global Volunteers' programs center around life-enhancing work projects for children and their families. We continue to work with our hosts worldwide to match specially skilled volunteers with local people so that pressing community needs can be met together. Our local project leaders are adults from the host community who lend their assistance to the local work projects.

If you have a specific interest in working with teens and adults, you can select from a variety of projects in many locations around the world. All projects are selected and monitored to benefit the community at large. Teach young and adult students conversational English as they prepare for work in the global community. Repair community buildings, or help with landscaping. Entertain and stimulate seniors who hold the community's history and culture for a very rewarding service experience. Organize library shelves, assist with administrative or clerical projects, or provide computer training. If you are a medical professional, you can perform patient examinations, provide prenatal care and provide numerous "hands-on" types of services to teens and adults.

"The afternoon of filling concrete and moving rocks was temporarily interruped by the local treat of magoes and sugar cane. After cleaning the site, we were done for the day, except for moving 20 bags of cement. Then, we went to the swimming hole to all cool off together."
- Will Hunt, Jamaica Volunteer
