Poland Free Time
How much free time is there during the program?
Ample time is available on evenings and weekends to enjoy the numerous nearby natural and cultural attractions.
What are free-time options?
Siedlce offers many cultural events and musical competitions as well as public dance and music recitals. Some that are nationally known are "Recital" Polish Festival of Singing Poetry, International Jazz Standards Festival, International Festival of Music, Dance and Folklore, and Polish Tournament of Poetry. You can plan to attend one or more events during your free time.
On the weekend, you can visit the many attractions in Warsaw or Krakow. Warsaw offers Old Town and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier among many other historic sites. Krakow is known for its beautiful town square and its quaint feel, as well as Wawel castle, Auschwitz, and the oldest salt mine in Europe.
Will Global Volunteers arrange free time for me?
No. Because Global Volunteers is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, our team leaders and consultants are prohibited from making free-time arrangements for you, although they can provide general guidance and advice, including a list of activities explored and enjoyed by previous teams. Most volunteers wait until they are with the team to plan activities with their teammates.
