Freetime Options Are Plentiful

While the purpose of any Global Volunteers' service program to serve the host community and learn about and from the local people, there are free-time opportunities to learn about the culture and country on your own or as a group. Each location offers its unique fascination and charm. Most of the volunteer work is conducted during the day, Monday through Friday, leaving the evenings and weekends free for you to explore and relax. Our Country Managers and consultants can provide you with a list of activities enjoyed by previous teams. Most host communities are accessible to local tour operators, who can arrange most any kind of excursion for you.

In many communities, volunteers can share meals and cultural events with local people. Most program sites offer exceptional site-seeing and educational attractions. Most volunteers wait until they are with the team to plan activities with their team members. Free-time arrangements and costs are your responsibility.
